Movie trailer for Robert Zemeckis directed The Walk starring Joseph Gordon Levitt

Revisit the World Trade Center in The Walk [2015] trailer

What kind of logic goes into selecting the cast of a Hollywood studio film? After watching the ftrailer or Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming “The Walk” I’m compelled to ask this. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a fine actor but any non-renewable actor trying to do the accent always comes across as an impersonation of Pepé Le Pew.

Maybe during the course of the movie that accent won’t be a problem, nor those awful wigs, but in this trailer for “The Walk” it evokes laughter more than anything else

“The Walk” tells the real life exploits of high-wire artist Philippe Petit and his daring attempt to scale New York’s World Trade Center towers in the 70’s. This event was covered in 2008’s “Man on Wire” documentary.

What a tech savvy filmmaker like Zemeckis can offer is to recreate an era, bring to life a landmark and bring us on a visually thrilling journey in IMAX no less to the top of the twin towers. Let’s hope the rest is as thrilling.

The Walk will be released in Singapore cinemas on the 1st of October 2015 and in Malaysia on the 15th of October 2015.

    1. Thanks for the reblog. Unfortunately, the piece that was originally posted wasn’t what I’d intended to publish. I’d scheduled the post and forgot to update it. Have updated it now. Also thanks for the follow!
