Music: Slaughterhouse – R.N.S.

“Southpaw”, the Jake Gyllenhaal boxing drama which opens in Singapore cinemas tomorrow 22 July 2015, also has a soundtrack hosting a who’s who of artists from Eminem’s Shady Records and Interscope. Talk about synergy. Hip hop supergroup Slaughterhouse, consisting of Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Royce da 5’9″ and Crooked I lands a song on the soundtrack.

Watch the music video for R.N.S. from hip hop supergroup Slaughterhouse on alcaTsar blog:

When Slaughterhouse was first formed it was exciting as each emcee not only had incredible skills on the mic but also brought a unique personality to the mix. Could they bring hip hop back? Unfortunately, it takes more than lyrical abilities to string together a good song. Even under the mentorship of producer Just Blaze the quartet fizzle more than they pop. Their latest song “R.N.S.” from the Southpaw soundtrack again shows their inability to craft their own cohesive sound.
