For the longest time I had been hearing buzz about the Malayalam movie “Drishyam” starring legendary Mohanlal. My curiosity only intensified when I read it had been remade as “Papanasam” in Tamil starring one of the worlds greatest actors Kamal Haasan. Searching out trailer for both of YouTube I wondered what was so great about this story that both movies were breaking box-office records in their respective languages. My inability to understand what was going on of course didn’t help.
Now with the upcoming release of the Hindi remake of “Drishyam”, sharing the same title, I can finally understand what the fuss is about.
From the other trailers I had no idea that the story of “Drishyam” was such a gripping mystery. Ever since being introduced to 1965 Bollywood classic “Gumnaam” and countless Alfred Hitchcock films I’ve always been a fan of the “whodunit” genre.
Check out the trailer for the Bollywood remake of “Drishyam” below starring Ajay Devgn, south actresss Shriya Saran and Tabu and judge for yourself if this is worth the trip to the cinemas on the 31st of July 2015.

A man of few means & needs; Vijay believes life is to be lived simplistically – his wife, while she loves him devoutly, wants Vijay’s thrifty & miserly behavior to end and wants the world for her family. If there’s one thing that Vijay cannot live without, it is his passion for watching films. Such is his ‘filmy’ obsession that he doesn’t mind staying up all night at his office binging on TV movies! In a bizarre turn of events; a teenage boy goes missing; he is the son of a headstrong & no-nonsense cop; IG Meera Deshmukh (Tabu) and the Salgaonkar family is the prime suspect!
